A 5U4GB can drop as much as 50v so depending on the PT you choose could be a factor.
I take the secondary voltage and multiply it by 1.21 for the voltage after the rectifier.
To me it would be so much more simple to just use SS diodes unless you do need to drop some volts.
With the diodes you multiply by 1.41.

The Firefly schematic and Chassis Layout (rev3, Paul Marossy) don't seem to pay much mind to star grounding techniques. I star grounding unnecessary in an amp of this scale?

Looks grounded to me. The whole ground rail goes to the input jack just like I do with my PTP amps.
