Pignose 150 R
Have a Pignose 150r with a bad AC power transformer. Can anyone recommend a company, outlet, or supplier that might have this transformer? / Preferably a wholesale outlet...

Re: Pignose 150 R
I had one of those. Very rare, but one of the only SS amps i ever liked a lot, and THE only one i ever gigged with and was actually happy with the sound and feel. They say the front end is modeled after a RAT pedal, so maybe thats why, being that the RAT is one of my fav distortion pedals. Not exactly i'm sure tho, because it's much tighter than a RAT. Only thing i never got was the crossmix feature. I always found that useless.

Was it a FET stage?
those rats had a FET driving an IC and clipper, followed by another FET to drive the out.

I don't know. I don't think i ever even saw a schematic. But i have heard it said in several articles is was modeled after the RAT. Heard that for years. I was using a boogie to gig with at the time (80's) and that pignose made me sell my boogies. Not that boogies are particularly great anyways...
