Fake ones work just as well as the real thing.
They attract the likes of me & Mark.
Great idea though.

With pasties made out of cold taffy. Someone will be caught.
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

You've probably already seen this, but here is a guy playing a Les Paul through a 72 Artiste just like yours. I dunno, lots o Marshally goodness from where I'm sitting.

I like it. I'm sure there are good sounds in there, a good player can find them. Walk in proud, set it down like a doctor's bag on a house call, and play like you where chosen to unleash it's hidden magic. Believe and never let them see you sweat.

I have an Artiste head in orange tolex. Same year but mines a pcb board.
The reverb channel isn't something to brag about, but the other channel is crunch heaven
I put it down to the Baxandall tonestack.

It's going to be awesome after you fix it. By then you will know it intimately. It will be yours entirely. Just keep that in mind. 8)

Brilliantly said. To the TAG crowd it arriving broken is an added bonus! Seriously, it's prolly just something knocked loose, like a tube.

Yeah, you ever notice how big the center holes for ceramic 8 pin sockets are? Well I missed the index pin on one of the EL34's and plugged it in incorrectly and popped the HT fuse.  yep I'm a dumb ass.

I think I'll take a peak inside to see if their's any damage.

Some demonic force keeps guiding my hand to mix up rectifiers and power tubes. I blame the bifocals. Check the first power string resistor.

It lives,

channel 1 sounds very promising.

channel 2 has a weird distortion when playing low root and 5th's at all volumes. I don't have the reverb hooked up but that shouldn't make a difference.

only mods I can see are bypass caps added to ch 1 cathodes and one on ch 2 1st gain stage.
