Old modded 2205 help

Post by Arutha »

I have a 2205 modded from the early 90s that has the preamp portion of the board cut out and it was turned into a single channel amp with no reverb. So have two extra preamp tube sockets empty waiting to be used.

I was thinking something more plate driven possibly using more tubes and was wondering if anyone knew of decent schematic I could reference? I am willing to change anything in the amp except the Drake components since they’re oringinal. I am attaching a rough schematic of the pre amp side of what’s there today. My skills of drawing schematics are poor…

Thanks

Hey!

My question is exactly what amp that has that configuration has exited you? If you have an idea what you want it to do it would be fairly simple to plan. I have to hear things..

That is an excellent platform to build many monster prototypes in. I think that is the model my vocalist used with 3 clean controls and verb..

I like some of your ideas.. umm.. unsure about the gain staging.

Also, if TS is plate drive, add 50k pot to mid control ground tail, add +50k pot in slope to 33k-47k resistor, add common resonance. That is very effective for curve control and make no matter where you start tell you exactly where to go.
