usually a 3h choke is safe with a marshall or plexi. the 20h will sound very clean

Due to availability it'll have to be a 5H Choke (Hammond 194D), which isn't a bad thing as it can take 150mA. Internal resistance is 107Ohms which I believe is pretty much the same as the Drake Chokes that Marshall used. I'll then use 32uf+32uf caps for all mains filtering, cant get a 16uf + 16uf cap that will go on my turret board.

Hey Roe, I have 2 old Traynor chokes pulled from YBA-1s or Bassmasters, probably. I was saving to use in Marshall builds one day. Any chance you know their ratings? At least if towards 20H or 3H? I was going to ask in a separate post but while we're here...

For a 2204'ish build I likes the 20H choke.
380 to 410 B+ works good.
For power string filters :--
100uF Reservoir
32 to 40uF Screens
16uF PI & Pre-amp.
Loose enough...
For a 45/100 around 500v B+ I stiffened the filtering a little.
Sumpin else to keep in mind - new filter caps are usually on the high side of the tolerance band.
