Nice looking amp...looks like a personal build that would be on a a lot of forums
decent price...
Might be the lowest priced hand wired amp I've seen
Interesting using Sozo's for tone stack only...
date code looks like Jan of 2013?

Pretty sweet. Looks like a burner in high gain. 220k plate and everything bypassed. Whaddya suppose is after the first coupler at the inputs, 100k divider?

That is a Great Price for this amp and it looks well built.

To be honest the hand wired Boutique amp market is out of control with builders wanting $2500 and up for a amp head. I call BS on many of those builders.

"Out of control ...... BS"???

Figure $1,000 to $1,500 in premium parts. Add 60 hours of skilled labor at a heavily discounted rate of $25/hour and you're at $2,500 to $3,000. That's a bargain for the buyer (yes, they have to be able to afford it, but that's not the fault of the builder, is it?). I'm surprised builders can make a living, pay for health care, put a roof overhead, and set something aside for retirement. I bet they don't.

Nick

You're right. Dr Z posted this here a while back about building the Z Wreck.
Lets say:

675.88 for parts cost
390.00 for labor; assembly , QA, Cab completion, play test QA, and
boxing/shipping, appox 15 hrs @$26.00/hr
1065.88 total cost of assembly

x2.5 % mark up for list price quotes
2664.70 List price for Standard color Z-Wreck head
rounded up to
$2699.00

Now I wholesale my amps and do not sell direct, and 2.5 % covers my overhead and a small profit per unit. So to stay healthy and in business
I need to ship at least 8 Z-Amps / day, which we do .

DR.Z
In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.

Amp business? Premium parts? Who is crazy enough?

:)

Yeah. Watch your ass. If you think this is more than a hobby it's because you know crazy people with money. I can't even get anyone to buy an iconic vintage guitar for half price.

Yep, I often sell builds for what the parts cost, or slightly over, as this is a hobby for me. The looks I get when I tell musicians the price...

Basically, the government told everyone to go on welfare and do what I did professionally as a hobby. That is their plan. It's not working for me. It's not working for anyone.

No, it's only working for the elite politician class. Ironic that the Executive constantly makes noises about how he's using his bully pulpit to solve the problems of class struggle.
