The reissue Bassman amps come with linear taper volume pots. I thought I read somewhere that the linear pots were used as Fender couldn’t get the 30% taper 1M pots that were originally used in the amp.
What is the consensus on this one?

That seems really unlikely to me, pot manufacturers are, and always have been, happy to make a batch of whatever spec you want.
It's only small quantity buyers who are stuck with standard values stocked by resellers.
What makes you sure the original pots were 30% audio?
Consider that the 1959 model Fender reissued is seemingly undocumented, the '59 tweed bassman reissue isn't intended to be a December 1957 (I-EG) 5F6A reissue.

I thought I read it in Guitar Player magazine when all the boutique reissues emerged. I still have the magazine somewhere.

The Vibroverb RI also came out in 1990, I can't make out the actual taper %, but just being noted, and the weird tapped treble pot, might indicate non standard pots were probably used.

Looks like the pots are 10% and 20% audio to me.
