I wanna confirm what wires go where if you peeps could kinly help...This is what i maybe figure at present but get lost somewhere after....No chances taken here tho.
2 Yellow wires (5v)- pins 2&8 of rectifier socket.
2 Green wires (6.3vct) - Pilot lamp.
2 red wires (325 v) -pins 4&6 of rectifiers socket.
2 Black (240v) - 1-live terminal of IEC socket / 2 - AC Mains on Switch.
1 Green & White-earth
Regards.

You need to connect the red/yellow wire to chassis as well.

Re: Need Hammond pt transformer hook up Help
The green/white is the green/yellow in your layout. It's connected to the cathodes of the power tubes to elevate it above ground, which will help reduce hum from the filament circuit. I haven't seen that done through a 100 ohm resistor before (usually it's directly connected), but I don't see why it won't work.

Re: Need Hammond pt transformer hook up Help
Thanks Martin, I will stick with the weber layout just for now so i will hook the grn/wht up to the 100 ohm resistor >
Concerning other pt wires wires.
Orange.
Red & yellow.
these 2 wires from the PT to one ground bolt !
I will def get a photo up tomo..coz i have a feeling i'm gonna need some help

Re: Need Hammond pt transformer hook up Help
Orange is an electrostatic shield, which the Webber PT doesn't have, and the red/yellow is the HT center tap. Both of those go to the ground lug on the transformer bolt. I would rather drill another hole and use a separate bolt, though.

Re: Need Hammond pt transformer hook up Help
yep i def will drill a hole and bolt down those ! concerning that 50uf cap & the resistor strapped on top, will these go to the same ground bolt too?
time to sleep on it.
thanks again Martin .

Re: Need Hammond pt transformer hook up Help
Yes. Put the resistor above the cap (hot air rises), and leave some space between them so the cap doesn't get cooked.showbander wrote:concerning that 50uf cap & the resistor strapped on top, will these go to the same ground bolt too?

Re: Need Hammond pt transformer hook up Help
Thanks Martin, so i have 1 connection left from the PT that i am unsure of ...the 50v Red /Green . Does this go to ground on the 1st 40uf cap ?
Not been able to do anything today but will crack on tomorrow with hooking up the PT and add photos then.
Cheers.

Re: Need Hammond pt transformer hook up Help
The 50V red/green is for a fixed negative bias voltage supply. Since your power section is cathode biased (the 150 ohm resistor from cathodes to ground) you don't need it. Just cut off the bare wire part, fold it over and put some heat-shrink on it.

Re: Need Hammond pt transformer hook up Help
So Guys & Martin
I have the 2 black 240v wires left. Am i right in thinking one of these go to the IEC live terminal and the other goes to the one of the power on switch terminal (centre terminals)?
Concerning the other lug on the power on switch will this be connected from the neutral lug on the IEC ?
Thanks
