Normal Channel Super Reverb Build Board Layout

Post by JoeTele »

Hi,

I posted about a normal channel only Super Reverb build in a Princeton Reverb chassis a few weeks back and got some great feedback so I ordered some parts, got the dimensions for the PR board I intend to buy from Weber, and did a sort of mock-up of the filter circuit, with the 0.1uf caps from the PI-out/6L6 grid circuit included. Does it look like all of these components are spaced as well as they need to be in the attached photos? The voltage regulating resistors for the 100uf caps are underneath the caps, with a good 3/16" inch between them and the caps. I'll probably run the wire to connect those 2 caps in series under the board.

Also, in the partial photo of the circuit layout I intend to work from (Weber), is there any reason that the junctions circled in green are spread across 2 eyelet connections?

Thanks!

Joe

Try the reservoir caps this way, and I'd put the other ones down on the board.

Thanks, Martin! I'll give your ideas a go. If I do end up having to go with the stock layout, is there anything that can get damaged in my current arrangement? Resistors too close to caps, etc.?

Thanks again!

Just don't put the power supply dropping resistors right next to the electrolytics. I expect you will be able to get rid of some eyelets since you no longer have the leads coming from the top side of the chassis to deal with.
