I know he's not going to toot his own horn, but if you guys haven't checked out all of sluckey's stuff on his site, you're missing tons of great info www.sluckeyamps.com
You are awesome, Steve. You could use ultraviolet ones and make a thing do a thing. lol
Thanks for the thousand miles of blood. I followed your trail through 2000 posts all over the internet to arrive at this amazing conclusion. The vib circuit in my Bandmaster is fantastic now. The speed can't defeat the OSC in either extreme, the width of the pulse is over the top. It has 30% more than I like and started with 50% less than I could use.
That is just right!

I've used the LED in several other tremolo amps too. Different colored LEDs have different forward voltage drops. Some are suitable to bias a 12AX7 phase shift oscillator. Some are not. So, did you hide the LED or put it up front for the world to see how bright you are?
The LED idea is not mine. I think I borrowed it from Merlin. Scroll down to the bottom of this page...

This is in a 62 Bandmaster and I am not about to spend time cutting a hole, although I considered wiring it into a rarely used input jack. lol (rarely used jack hole reserved for mid shift or slope)
It is the only way to warble. It's a whole different game.. it's crazy. I'm crazy. Perfect!

Haha! Doug was just demonstrating how strong the reverb is with the revibe. He does some good surf tunes with insane reverb. The revibe can easily be dialed back for a more subtle reverb and/or tremolo sound.
Also, whatsthedeal about the diode over the intensity!
The only place I've seen the diode on the INT pot is in the bias vary trem circuits, ie, the trem signal modulates the grids of the output tubes as found in the 6G16 Vibroverb and Princeton Reverb. The diode is to prevent a strong trem signal from "pumping" the bias too hard, creating a thumping sound from the speaker. I don't think it would be applicable to your bandmaster circuit.

Yeah, and I can get a ticket for 63 in a 55... but I'm going to get a ticket for 100 in a parking lot!
Wheeeeverb!
I couldn't sleep. Been thinking all night about tearing up my reverb and also about putting a bright cap on the normal channel side of my Bandmaster. Need also to pad the input on the reverb so I can feed it line level. I'm manic about amps, again.
