Blackface Bassman chassis

Post by jkey04 »

I'm in search for a Blackface bassman chassis. Drilled & punched already.

Does anyone know a source for one of have one lying around? All the standard places seem to be sold out at the moment (ie: Mojotone, etc..).

Check with Mike Marsh from Marsh Amplification. Seller 1032canter1961 has two listings for a Bassman and Bassman 6G6B on eBay right now. Zachmundermd also was a seller in the past.

I've got a few of the old Gomez Amplification versions of the 6G6 chassis. No on makes a faceplate for them today and they're not exact, but pretty close. I think I paid $30 a piece for them back in the day. Collecting dust...

And exactly how many of these chassis's do you have on hand and all, Because if he is not interested anymore, (Don't want to step on his source here,) I may be interested!!

Post a photo or two of what you are willing to "Let Go"!

If you are making your own cabinet then you may be able to track down a non reverb Bandmaster chassis, and for that matter a blackface showman chassis could be used since you are only running 2 output tubes.

They are punched out the same but are 1 3/4" wider overall

This was what I ordered and have already received already from Ebay. (Photo borrowed from Ebay ad for chassis)

I liked those old Gomez Amplification versions of the 6G6 chassis which I had bought the last of from him in California a few years back and had used them all for builds. Very strong chassis. It did not occur to me that these were sized to fit my older Elk chassis which was damaged during a move. That was why I was questioning about the chassis gathering dust...

Why is the next question I'll be asked.

To me it is worth it!!
(Too many years living on Okinawa Japan) (Amp used in the military recreation center at camp Butler during the late seventies thru the early eighties)(Amplifier company that burned down in the late 60's later added to what became Fender "Japan Only")(So if you decide to depart with at least two, Let me know, before I have to custom order two new ones!!)

Here are some pics of the half dozen Gomez chassis I have collecting dust. 20.25" wide. No face plates and none I know that you could buy. Sitting on top of a Mojo cabinet. Tight squeeze...
