Got a brown deluxe which sounded ok but needed some TLC... Changed the electrolytic with slightly higher value (22/22/22/15), added a bias pot, no’s pair of 6V6, 5y3 to keep plate voltage around 375V. Added grid stoppers and swamp resistors.
With the chassis on top of the amp, I spent some time tube rolling on the preamp for a couple of days and ended up with a great tone! The amp also behaved beautifully!!
After putting the chassis back in the cab, something happened... significant loss of power, the sound distorts in a “grumbling” way and and the volume goes up and down a bit.
I took the chassis back out, put it back on top of the cab, everything sounds great...
Looked at the connections, nothing seems to be moving or loose...
Where should I start?
“Interesting” 6G3 issue...

With the amp out of the cab check out what internal stuff the 4 hold down screws maybe knocking around when you load then in, or if a shard of the window screen shield stapled up to the inside roof of the cabinet is hanging down and coming in contact with something .
