57 CUSTOM PRO REISSUE POWER XFMR
My 57 Pro has a bad power XFMR . Primary blown . is this not fused . I need to replace the Mercury original any suggestions ?

there must be a fuse atleast on the primary side!
No pilot lamp and no tube filaments lighting up?
It looks like you need a Murcury magnetics FTTP transformer and then to find out what made it go south!

At last found the MERCURY replacement (what a bargain ! $300 ) Guess I should expected it on $2500 TWEED
Hope it sounds at least as good as original .

I'd suggest measuring to ground all of the power rail, make sure nothing reads either continuity or super low reading. That's one way the amp can ruin a PT. Also check the tube sockets that none are shorting between pins etc. Or look like they've got carbon traces on or around them. Check all resistors for consistent values and while measuring it wouldn't be a bad idea to press on them with a chopstick to see if values change, ones that have shorts or are open sometimes don't appear that way until under heat/use but pushing on them can make them show faults. Otherwise it's a bit of a crap shoot. It could have just been a tube failure that was catastrophic.
