Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue - Drive Channel Mods?
Love the clean channel of this amp but looking to make the drive channel of this amp less brittle and warmer sounding. I've already replaced the stock speaker with a Celestion Greenback, put 6v6 power tubes in, replaced bias resistor so the amp can actually be biased to correct value. Anyone have any ideas on what to do to tame the drive channel on this thing? It's just too bright, brittle, and not a natural sounding overdrive how it is stock. I can get great overdrive sounds by pushing clean channel with overdrive and distortion pedals, but would really like to have two usable channels in this amp. To me the drive channel isn't really all that usable how it is stock. Plus the drive channel doesn't take pedals as well as clean channel does. So has anyone had any experience on modding the drive channel of these amps to sound better and be more usable?

I have the original, and I've yet to do the mod, but from what I read there's a drive mod that uses the second half of the unused triode to make it sound way better:

I don't know if the reissue would be as simple, not sure what they've changed, but basically that mod sounds cool, and I eventually plan on doing it. also in that description more as an after note they say you don't really 'need' the extra filter cap, so it's a bit easier to do the mod without it.
If you do it, let me know how it sounds. I def want to do it and film it at some point, but it's been low on my priority list for some time
