Hi All,
I'm working on a Princeton Reverb (kinda) build and wanted to know which coupling caps and plate resistors are in vogue right now. I've been building mostly Dumbles or experimental homebrews over the last few years and haven't kept up on modern replacements for big Allen Bradleys. There are lots of MilSpec metal films and orange drops in the bin but think they would be too exacting for the tone I have in mind.
If possible, I'd like to get either new/new or NOS from someone who keep reliable inventories. I posted something like for Voxes somewhere a few years back and got mostly people who'd gotten (and weren't selling) stashes of unobtanium NOS parts from long-dead amp legends. This is a one-off so cost isn't an issue.
Right now I'm leaning towards carbon film Takmans and Kiwame's from Parts Connexion. I've had good luck with the Mojo Dijons for couplers and will probably stick with Sprague TVA(?) bypass caps. I'll get the chassis laser cut out of .125" aluminum a little oversized to accommodate an oversized PT and plan to use a 1962 P12N in the box.
Thanks for any ideas and stay cool this summer, Skip
