65 Deluxe reverb reissue Power transformer problem
I have a DRRI with a blown tranny. I thought it was caused by a shorted rectifier. Did not blow either fuse. I put 120V to Primary and do not get any voltages from secondary. I replaced the power transformer, rectifier tube and the 5 large filter caps. Amp came on worked and sounded great for about two hours, Then the transformer blew again. I'm back where I started. Can't see any other problems. bad resistors, shorts, etc. HELP!!!

If the fuse in the amp is the right slow blow rating, and like you posted is still good, than its odd that the PT failed by going open on you, as 98% of the time they short and take out the fuse.
Even more strange is when the replacement PT failed it did so in the same manor if the fuse did not go once again!
Did the fuse go this time, as you did not make mention of that?
If a PT goes open without blowing a fuse then the physical connection of the wire lead to the wire of the winding as failed and sometimes I have been able to cut into the insulation wrap and re-solder that failed connection point IF that connection point is not too deep down in the wrapping layers, but its not a easy thing to solder up when found.
Many times the thin winding lead has snapped off and then you need to see if you can pull out more, melt and or scrape the enamel insulation off of it and then solder the wire lead back on.
After that I mix up epoxy and pour it into the layer sections where the lead wires come out to make sure that no further movement and or heat expansion will create the same issue!
If on the replacement Pt you pulled on the leads too hard, or wired them up with no slack, then I guess that's what made for the open in the winding again.

65 deluxe ri
Fuse did not blow the second time either. they are the right size. Amp played great for about 2 hours before the transformer went again. seemed a little hot to me.

Tip: Don't post the same question in more than one sub-forum. You have two separate threads started on the same problem.

So yet again with this second PT you have ac going in on the primary and no ac output at all on any of the secondary windings?

Sorry, I am new here and didn"t realize i had posted on two different post. I am in the US. 120V 60hz. I completely unhooked the transformer and connected 120 to the black and white primary wires. i have no voltage coming out of any kind.
