I agree the Super Reverb circuit is pretty close to perfect. But to just be a contrarian, check out an Ampeg VT40, though part of the magic of that amp is a very 3d reverb. The other part is the James-style tone controls with the additional of a very flexible midrange control. Modern parts exist to implement the original multi-tapped inductor.

Also, some Garnet amps have some beautiful cleans with a different sound than the standard Fender AB763. Again, the Garnets I believe used the James (often mislabeled the Baxandall).

I like my hand drawn layout better then Greg's :roll: Just kidding. :)

I built the tone board and stuck it into a JTM chassis but have not built this amp yet. :)

I modified Greg's layout to add some wiring but the power tube grids still need to be changed so 1k5 goes to each tube socket. Edit changed layout to show 1k5 grids to each tube socket.
