This amp is still acting up... it just takes longer now.
I think I will replace the filter caps and power resistors.

Replaced all of the power supply components. Turned it on at 5:00 this evening. Switched in and out of standby probably 20 times... no problem. Turned off the power at about 2:00 am and i heard it again as it died out. I turned the power back on... switched it out of standby and there was the horrible hum again.
Turning in for now. Tomorrow i will run it in to a dummy load while it is failing and trace it to the bad spot.
Any other ideas?

Why isn't this a warranty fix?
Re: '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue Super Loud Hum
Man, I hate intermittent problems.
Seems like it may be heat related.
I know in solid state trouble shooting, a burst of cold spray can pinpoint a faulty component but I would be wary spraying that stuff around hot tubes.

Reflowed all the joints on both boards... No more problem.
Should have traced it to see where it was happening but I figure problem solved and I know the joints are good now.
Thank you China!
