Headphone Amp

Post by Theashe »

I figured this belonged in the non-tube amp forum. I wanted to share this low-power all analog headphone amp I just finished as a design project for a university capstone course, since TAG has been fueling my interest in amps and answering my dumb questions for two years now (I'm working on tube amp number two as we speak).

The headphone amp is discrete except for the op-amps used in an 8-band graphic EQ with sweepable center frequencies, and an LED intensity meter for the EQ band frequencies. Very fun project, but I'm going back to tube amps after this. This was also my first woodworking project since making the chassis cradle for my first tube amp.

I hope you enjoy the gutshots. I have pictures of the solder side if you'd like.

Damn! Throw in a microprocessor, and you've got a 1980s garage computer!

Great work. OCD. You fit right in!
