Drat that's awful. Nobody whacked that bass quite like him. Got to see Yes only once, they were the opening opening act with a hat full of fresh new hits 25 Nov 1971 at Academy of Music in NYC, just rippin' it up like nobody's business. Very impressive. Chris was stompin' around the stage in a pair of furry boots kickin' out those signature bass lines on his Rick.
down technical blind alleys . . .

What?!

I had no idea he had leukemia.

My all time favorite bassist.

Very sad.

Happy Trails Chris.

Yes a very sad day indeed.
I got to see him 10 times in Yes. From being the unknown band opening for Jethro Tull to having King Crimson(Fragile tour) or the Eagles (Close to the Edge Tour) opening for YES, to not needing any opening act at all.
Even saw them in round...

And while other members came and went Chris was there every show...
In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.

Yes, he was a power house bass player.

I liked how his bass lines were more than just a background for the music.
His technique and his trademark Ric tone completed the band's sound.

Now he is playing in a new band and I'll bet he loves it.
