hey all, couple weeks back i dropped ~$15 for a 1.75" round 1/4" neodymium magnet. good lord is this thing strong, 42.5 lbs of pull force and 13k8 gauss.
swipe a screwdriver across it to temporarily magnetize it, or what im planning is a magnetizing a metal strip to hold tools ready to go, mount it to a stick and pick up nails and screws after a yard project. i dont know, whatever you need a magnet for these guys have it, cms magnetics.
really a marvel of modern technology, the strength this thing has for its size and most of all weight, its unbelievably light. i figured some of you other geeks might find this interesting! im certainly having fun playing science!

Better?
Furthermore, pluralize any or all the above if you have more than one.
Also not good to swallow. For external use only. Awful stuff can happen.
If you still have floppy discs, keep magnets away from them too. There's the old office joke about the secretary who kept mysteriously losing data on her discs. Her filing system consisted of sticking them to the supplies cabinet with fridge magnets. How 20'th century. Ah the good old days...
Those suckers are amazing and scary! I fractured a finger within the first week of having them. If two pieces decide to attract to each other, just let em' go and stay out of their way. I'm not sure if it's a valid concern, but I make my son remove them from the house when granpa and his pacemaker visit.
