Muscle Shoals Documentary

Post by martin manning »

Anybody else seen this? It has just been released on DVD. Watched it last night and really enjoyed it. Some fantastic music came out of there and it was great to get some of the back story from the people who made it.

I haven't seen it, but I want to.

Last week I watched:

Song Of The South: Duane Allman And The Rise Of The Allman Brothers
http://www.amazon.com/Allman-Duane-Song ... B00DNJ99F2

Highly recommended!

Great great band.
Many many great tracks, but does anything rock more than Aretha "Think"?
What a band.

I just returned it to Netflix. Very good documentary, other than the irritating appropos-of-nothing Bono blather.

Fantastic, I salute you Martin. Very honest no BS doc. Very informative, though why they needed Bono to help give it 'authenticity' is beyond me, but most music docs do this, guess to sell it to a younger audience. Now my 2nd fave rock doc, first is this, I'd posted about it, out of print apparently, but:

MC5: A True Testimonial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfHzMj3Ong4

hurry and watch might not be on youtube long. you can use jdownloader to dl from youtube otherwise it might be on the torrents.

I have many of the Fame & Jackson Hwy albums, looks like this will be Muscle Shoals month, get to go through them with new insight.
