Minimum wage

Post by Reeltarded »

So, no more dollar menu. Where will poor people eat?

I saw a retard from SEIU on Colbert. Theoretical Economist. Michio Kaku has no monopoly on the rediculous.

$15/hr. I see lots of part time workers. Why shoot yourself in the foot when your head is so much easier to aim at?

Bolshevik much?

Yes. It is political, and fairly controversial.. the topic I mean, but not the truth of tampering in all markets. We will all starve to feed the machine. No history too studied for us.

How about a maximum wage? All pay beyond say $10 mil a year distributed to min. wage earners. It would split the diff. anyway, maybe get 'em to 11 or 12 $ an hour. Just a kooky daydream. No need to take pot shots.

How MUCH do people need anyway. Most of the millionaires I've met/worked for, are worried sick they'll have to do with a penny less. Scrooge types, most of 'em. Two billionaires, just as calm and serene as the Dalai Lama. They know they're not gonna run out of cash, ever. Then again, not much of a statistical base.

There should be no min and no max. There should be no controls on the natural economy. There should be no tampering with markets. That is what there should not be.

The worker is the consumer. Going on strike isn't a line of worked up idiots with a sign. A strike is dropping the sails and the ship doesn't move.

The worker is a consumer. Buyer beware. If you aren't happy with a job, quit it. If the food tastes like shit, don't eat it. If you don't like Windows buy an Apple. If you don't like Ford get a Toyota.

It's not as easy as the broadcasted line of solidarity. It's much easier than that. It is what it looks like, not what it's made into. Political suicide of civilization.

Who cares? Not them.

I have to agree with you, Miles. I too, think minimum wage should be abolished. My friends think I'm an idiot. I am certain there are many unemployed people who would rather work for $4 an hour than not have a job at all. Let's get everyone working, then let's work on the economy.

Work for what the job is worth. Maybe every job is worth at least 12 bucks an hour, but we'll never get the chance to know or live with a reasonable economy or compete in manufacturing or own the things we dream of.

If people who work fast food think that it's a career or worth more than what they are paid, they should sit in a drive-thru for 25 minutes to buy the cold crap they poorly assembled with that crap attitude and it's still wrong.

Politicians have no right to decide how to make us live, but they took it. They should be piss pot poor, not celebtards with an army of thugs masquerading as "regulatory" officers.

The problem is, some have found it more lucrative to be a burden on social welfare than to work. The whole social welfare structure needs to change - something that is impossible to do as no politician will be willing to perform political suicide in promoting the change. Guessing it would take nearly 20 bucks an hour to equal the total package benefits received that some get. It is a system that is being gamed by individuals AND politicians.

Side bar, we had a Chinese manufacturing manager walk through our facility, his very first comment was "where are the young people". True fact, America has lost the young manufacturing talent and IS soft. See above....

That's called "The Swedish model". Our tax krona, or your $$$, at so called "work". Running this system costs more than what it pays out in welfare.

no, its called the american way - the welfare state.

I know people on welfare living better than me - and I have a good job.

why work if the gov will pay me more not too? Am I the last american with any ethiics or morality? apparently so - I need to fix that.

Its a broken system - abolish welfare - if you want it, then get out there and hustle - and that will set market value back to where it should be. Visit a foriegn country with no welfare - those people hustle just for todays dinner meal. They know what work is - but it int pretty.

And abolish the laws that keep these people from working....

Those (working) who point out others - goldbrick malingerers - get smeared as "racist" and other epithets. Besides there are plenty of refrigerator-white folks in my neighborhood who have learned to game the system.

Late 60's USA agriculture program started to pay farmers to NOT grow certain crops. Keep the prices up, supply & demand, was the idea. Those outside the ag biz left scratching their heads, how do that make sense? I heard some report that this program has been scuttled but don't really know.

Don't worry you're not the last. Plenty of good folks. Only problem, we're not in charge.

CORPORATE welfare, that's where the big money's going. To quote some pol "You gotta pay these guys tens, hundreds of millions of dollars a year. How else are you going to get that kind of talent." Talent indeed. Run your biz into the ground and get handouts from Congress. That's the "new paradigm." Enough, I'm gettin depressed. Hey buddy can you spare a . . . $10,000,000 dime?

The cancer has spread so pervasively throughout America, there is no way to "cure" it without killing the patient.

The government is totally out of control. It should be starved utterly and completely, for 100 years or so. No one work. No one pay any tax at all. Lie down and die (parasites can't survive without a host). The elite will retreat, and sequester themselves in relative splendor in tax-payer paid bunkers. It will be like The Masque of The Red Death, with them playing the part of the Red Death. The champagne and caviar in those blast-proof bunkers reserved for our lords and masters (politicians who will propagate the next generation, spreading their superior genetic codes) will be expended by the end of the 100 years, and even their progeny will start going hungry. They'll emerge into a scorched, radioactive landscape that would make Mad Max's futuristic work look like a day at Disneyland.

That is our legacy. Or one version of it, if the vermin politicians and multi-national conglomerates continue to piss all over The Constitution.

Makes me wonder how our nation functioned before there was income tax.....

There wasn't a general federal tax until 1913 (Sixteenth Amendment) and it was challenged many times.

This current government makes me sick.

That ain't the half of it. By not making much money I don't pay much tax. But and that's a big BUT, local school tax rips off a large slice of my tiny pie, and I'm sure it's the same for a lot of folks. If I had some kids, maybe I could justify all that loot, or some of it anyway. Those who rent pay school tax also, it's just part of the rent calculation and they don't usually see that. I dunno about you-all's school districts but here it's an organization devoted to stupidity, infighting, nepotism and waste waste waste. Oh and paying off teachers union executives who never have spent one minute teaching or doing anything else productive. Besides feds & schools you have state county and municipalities. All figuring how to spend more more more every year. In NY Gov Andrew Cuomo campaigned on minimizing government. Do away with redundancies. Now THERE's a good idea. Haven't seen anything come out of that. (Don't mean to raise your blood pressure any more than it already is, good neighbor NickC, about Andy I think we're on the same page. No sermon needed. Just check off the box, Andy? FEH!) Next goober-natatorial election, I'm from Missouri - SHOW ME. Could go on, but I gotta raise some $$ to - to pay taxes. Enjoy those astroturf fields, kids!

Corporate welfare, don't let it leave your minds. Wish it could.

I'm sure most of you are tired of my ranting about living in the marijuana capitol of the world (I swear to effin god I'm going to get out of here one day). It's very common place in this town to see the hippy-kid growers come into the market, stinking of weed (many of them don't bathe often plus handling the product to trim it leaves that sticky tar-what-ever-it-is all over their hands). When they get to the check out, they use their EBT card (the new food stamps) for all the food, then they pull big wads of 100-dollar bills out of their pockets to pay for their cigs and booze...
