Anyone in San Antonio / Austin area wanna make a few bones?

Post by Jerry2013 »

I'm needing repair on a few tube amps. Shouldnt be anything real involved.

Two Traynors , and homebrew that I put a new on - off switch in and now one tube is redplating so not sure i did it right.
Also have some gear I could turn you on to.

Barring that, can anyone reccomend anyone with an established repair business? The only reasonable and reputable guy in San Antonio , that I know of, just moved to Maryland ( Ampmonster).

Theres a few hacks in the area that i wouldn't trust as far as I could throw.

I Also have some gear I could turn you on to., I am probably willing to drive to Austin, but I'm from Kerrville/San Antonio.

Thanks

Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

There's a sign in the shop, posting the labor rates:
Repair work $50/hour.
You wanna watch $100/hour.
You fixed it first $150/hour.

I'm driving down to Austin tomorrow and I'd like to make some money. I live in Lubbock right now and run a small shop out of my house. I work for a lot of the pro players in town and usually when any of the shops get an amp they can't handle, they call me. As I tell people when I'm trying to acquire new customers, I'm the guy you want working on your stuff. I'm also usually quick with repairs, my turnaround times are usually in the magnitude of hours instead of days or weeks.

Shoot me a PM and we can talk more if you are interested. Hopefully the guys on here will vouch for me :).

+1 on Cliff if you guys can work out the travel.

He's anal. He'll clean stuff that doesn't need it. I can tell. :)

Cliff, I would be happy to give you a recommend . Give oz a call at Austin guitar house. I will give oz a thumbs up for you. He would need you to visit periodically.
There is a lot of work in the Austin area and I have been inundated with request to recommend another tech and I have not been able to yet.
