I play in a 60s band and would like to get that "backwards" guitar sound like the Beatles or Jimi got on record live.
A friend suggested a delay with reverse mode, is this how to do it?
Anyone got suggestions for a pedal?
Thanks.

Backwards guitar
In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.

I have a EHX Stereo Memory Man that does reverse.

My jack-of-all-trades is a Line 6 M9. Has reverse, plus looper, plus excellent tuner, etc etc. And, most importantly, very low self noise and very good tone.

Also, the Boss Slow Gear... I've never played with one, but I hear they do that sort of thing.
Good luck in your quest,

Re: Backwards guitar
Reverse echo helps to a certain extent. Depends on how long the passage is. Normally sounds best with effect only and no direct signal. Couple that with volume knob or pedal manipulation and you can go a long way. It is important to recognize that the attack and decay are reversed. In fact, that is the biggest part of making it sound correct, along with thinking about how to play the lines backwards. Volume control is the real way to get it done, but it takes some practice to make it happen.
