Division Bell
1994.
This is the first time I've listened to the whole album.
Wow it's boring.

Former PF fan.

Re: Division Bell
I only like "What do you want from me?"
So yeah, not that good. I did listen to it fully a few times when it came out. I was on my last year of high school.
Crap, im old.

It's hard to say which is more depressing: Division Bell or The Final Cut?

Re: Division Bell
'The Final Cut" has "Not Now, John" which is one of my favorite PF tracks. I did not care for "Bell" at all.
I'd link the video of it, but it has some objectionable language.

I didn't like Final Cut all that much either, but there is some powerful material there.BTF wrote:'The Final Cut" has "Not Now, John" which is one of my favorite PF tracks. I did not care for "Bell" at all.

It's like the 5th side of the Wall to me.
Momentary Lapse isn't bad either.
I still listen to that one every so often.

After the Wall it's nothing but probing incursion.
The only person who's talent didn't die before they turned 27 is Jeff Beck.

Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

I love Gilmour, but after "Wish You Were Here"- my favorite PF album- it just went downhill for me. "The Wall" was the straw. Despite David's gargantuan tones and playing, it just wears me out listening to it. I feel like Waters ought to pay me for playing psychiatrist to his "talking cure".
I can listen to "Wish..." and "Echoes" most any day (don't listen much to "Dark...", strangely). Rick Wright's keyboard playing kept getting pushed farther back into the mix (in part due to his own personal problems, admittedly), and I've come to realize that his playing and note choice influenced my guitar phrasing nearly as much as David's.

Re: Division Bell
Great observations BTF.
Animals gets a lot of play time for me.
So do Meddle and Relics.
WYWH and DSOM are staples to me.
I can listen to them any time and not really get tired of them.
LOL about Roger's ramblings.
Life was a lot more mysterious and fun when the band was obscured by clouds.

Apparently so!
Re: Division Bell
The Wall: FTW. One of my ALL time favorites. Post-Waters Floyd, meh.
