/2ush sighting

Post by Colossal »

Anyone happen to catch the latest VW Passat commercial where a guy is sitting in his VW at a stoplight air drumming to Fly By Night? He even catches his thrown air-drumstick. Now that's good technique!

No. But...I am certainly going to keep my eyes open for it now!

RUSH was my very first rock concert back in 1975 and I have been enamoured by them ever since. Even through the synth days of the 80's. "New World Man" was the saving grace for me!

Took my daughter to her first rock concert 30 years almost to the day from mine...and it was RUSH. Baton passed to the next generation.

Of course, Aerosmith didn't come far behind. I am a native New Hampshire'ite. We snuck into the Barn in Sunapee to see them when they played there very early in their career on more than one occasion.

Oh...those early days of RnR and mind altering substances have long passed...but are certainly not forgotten!!

Thanks for the heads up!

Cheers,
Dave O.

VW made a lot of great commercials. How did you like the one with the kid in Darth Vader costume?

My 1st live rock concert was in 1966, The Animals.
Growing up a teenager behind the Iron Curtain, these two songs became our motto. And it did get us into trouble...

What a great first concert, that must have been something. Wow! Nice way to pass the torch too to your daughter. A family that rocks together...

I can distinctly remember flipping though Rush vinyl at Wherehouse Records back in CA when I was kid and seeing 2112, Caress of Steel, All the World's a Stage, Farewell to Kings. I remember wearing the print off my Mercury Records Polygram cassette of Moving Pictures. Everyone (including me) was into Tom Sawyer when it hit the air in '81, but Camera Eye was always my favorite song. Seeing them perform Moving Pictures in its entirety last year for the 30th anniversary was pretty special. If I got hit by a bus tomorrow, well, I've had a good run and have seen Camera Eye performed live so...
