G&L Tribute

Post by don280z »

I have a chance to pick up a 2004 G&L Tribute Legacy (non-USA) guitar for a pretty good price.
What do you guys think?
Does anyone here have/play one?

I'm the wrong person to ask such a question. I have a policy of "Acquire First, Ask Questions Later."

Have you played it?

Pickups and stability are my two leading concerns with most any offshore-built guitar. You'll have to play it to know if you like the pickups. The guitar should be well-settled by now - check the geometry.

I like the G&L brand - great designs in my opinion. I have a Comanche and ASAT Jr. The Bluesboy is a fine guitar as well.

Assuming it hasn't been played to death by other people I would grab the guitar in a heart beat if I were you. The G&L Tribute series uses pickups made in the G&L Fullerton factory, and some of the hardware is also made in the G&L factory as well. For awhile final assembly was done in California as well, I am not sure if this is still the case though.

I had a 2004 Tribute Semi-hollow Bluesboy and it was the best guitar that I have ever played. It put a lot of MIA Fender Tele's to shame. I had a number of guys offer to buy it off of me that owned MIA Fenders.
