Belated Hello

Post by Teleguy61 »

I've realized that I have never actually posted an introduction for myself,
even though I have been a frequent visitor, and sometime poster,
for a year and a half plus.
I'm in eastern Mass, outside of Boston. I've been playing guitar since I was
14, and I hate to admit, that's now 49 years! Yikes! Hurts to even think it.
Played professionally for years, now out of the business fro a while, but I
still play as much as time allows.
I have fixed and tinkered with amps forever it seems, and got the build bug a couple of years ago. Built a couple kits, a Weber and a Ceriatone
HRM ODS.
I know, I know, but I didn't know then.
This is a wonderful site, and I have learned a great deal by reading and searching.
Thank you all-Tony, Tom, Scott, RJ, Cliff, Allan of course, Gil of course.
etc, etc, etc.
Your generosity is a beautiful thing. Thank you.
Keep on soderin'!

Welcome George!

There are quite a few older guys here that really know their stuff.

I'm just a kid (54).

Thanks Tom.
I've gained a lot from your posts on this and other forums, good insights.
In fact, I'm in the early stages of assembling parts for a
scratch build D'Lite, from Normster's layout, hopefully with a
D'Lator built in.
Hoping to use on hand and recycled parts as much as possible, money
being what it is.
Should be able to get by with buying electrolytics. some coupling
caps, some RN65s, and some pots.
We shall see.

That is a good amp, I built a D'lite kit back in '07 before problems arose.
Amazing how loud a couple 6L6 can get. :D

Oh yeah!
My ODS is a 100 watt, actually with 68 Twin iron. I put a half-power
switch in and I have never used it on 4 output tubes.
It has plenty of go on 2. I run it through 2 tl806 cabs I built,
rough stuff, not like what you see here, like from Taylor Cox.
Both loaded with OEM evm12s.
Plenty loud!
