Guthrie Govan and Suhr Amps

Post by John_P_WI »

The amazingly talented Guthrie Govan is now playing Suhr amps with his most recent venture The Aristocrats.

His tone is much more raw than previously with the Cornford amps.

Get a free download sample here: "Sweaty Knockers"

Any one have any more info on what amps were used for this track?

The Badger 30? CAE 3+ ? Mr. Suhr??

Truly, a fresh take on things.

Thanks, John

+1 to Guthrie Govan! Love his more fusion stuff (Fives and Sevens) but an amazing and truly versatile player. I heard he wasn't getting good service with Cornford and since he had a signature Suhr, I guess he got in on the amps too.

A Badger 30 and a PT100 at the same time.
He doesnt know the amount of mix between the two but live he takes a Badger 30 with the 2x12 with veteran 30's, a Koko Boost and that seems to get him where he wants. I'm sure the clean tones were the clean side of the PT100

LOL there is no magic I worry about hiding since I keep my prices reasonable. I guess the way I look at it is if you make it unobtanium then you are asking for it to be copied. So I keep my prices reasonable.
I do wish I had a chance to review those videos before they posted them.

Hey I completely understand.
It appears you have a nice operation going there.
I just thought that part was funny because I right before you said that was trying to see what was going on inside that chassis instinctively. Guess I've been hanging on the clone forums too long.

I just watched that tour the other day.
Very nice operation John.

You sure have a lot of irons in the fire.
That way you can control all aspects of your manufacturing.

I along with a lot of other people appreciate your honesty and integrity.

Now if I could just afford that Govan Sig Model..... :D

I would like to get some of the left over boards and parts!

John I thought it was a very good video and a lot of technology going into each amp.

I couldn't help taking in the whole series. Very impressive operation, John, and thanks for taking the time to do the interview and virtual plant tour! What would you change in the videos? Seemed to me just like being there, and the no glitz, no hype, just-as-it-happened quality is as impressive and confidence-inspiring as the technology.

Some things I said about paint were not clearly explained and then at TGP lol.... I was brought out on the carpet about it. God I hate that place sometimes, makes me wonder why I bother going there. I didnt explain myself completely because I had no idea this would wind up on utube. I would just prefer to look it over before it goes out there to avoid the people trying to twist your words. We are moving though in to the new building and then I will do another one and I will dot all my i's and cross my T's

John, a very impressive operation that you have. Being an engineer and involved in design and manufacturing my whole career, I greatly enjoyed watching the series. It is nice to see that fully integrated and "vertical" businesses still exist today.

Best of luck with the move and future business.

Thanks, John
