Original Tune (Richter Supra-Luxe w/VVR)

Post by doveman »

This is the Richter that I added Dana's VVR to. It's dimed in the recording and during the lead has an Xotic EP in front of it (although I don't think it needs it). Interesting, that it's at bedroom volumes during the recording in my den. Also noteworthy ... American Standard Tele w/Dimarzio Area-T ... so they are real quiet and I think play well clean or dirty. I programmed the drums with Jamstix3 ... I think have a nice attitude.

I did the vocals and played the bass in this tune. Vocals are hard work for me so be gentle ... but I think songs need them. Instrumentals are hard for me to listen to as well. Anyway ... hope you enjoy it.

Great tone and playing! I think your voice is pretty good, too!

Thanks guys ... I've been trying to do the band thing for the past three years. Just not quite getting it done. Haven't done any home recording in the same time frame ... so it's a good outlet. A bit rusty but I figured it all out again. I can't tell you exactly how much I like that VVR. A great mod.

Of the few amps in which I have used a VVR, it preserves the sound of the amp best in the 5e3 circuit.

Thanks ... I really enjoyed it.

And to NN's point ... I think he must be right about the VVR and 5E3. This Richter is absolutely the best bedroom amp I've ever seen ... then you turn it up ... run it through an EVM12L and you can gig with it. The 2x10 cab is a stretch sometimes ... but the EVM is so efficient it gives that bump.

Anyway ... having a blast even if I'm not gigging. :D
