Bob Pease died in a car accident on Saturday. He was one of the best analog IC designers, if not the best, that this world has seen.. RIP Bob..

Wow!!!!!!!! What a huge loss! If you know anything about Bob, you would know he probably died in a Volkswagen. :D To us old time engineers, and many young ones, Bob was a hero. Eccentric and brilliant and funny as hell. He was an iconic IC designer and he wrote a great series of magazine articles. They are a great read if you can find them. Bob, you will be missed.

Edit: I just read the article...it was a Volkswagen.

First Jim Williams now Bob Pease. OK, lets hope they will fix the bugs in the original design up there.

Is anyone else disgusted by the fact that you never hear about the deaths of guys like Bob Pease on headline news shows... but when celebrities die, or go and get themselves killed, its all you hear about for days...

Our society's values seem to be very misplaced.

We also recently lost Bill Andreycak, one of the big power gurus from Unitrode that used to do a lot of writing (as well as presentations) at the Unitrode design seminars. His and Lloyd Dixon's app notes and articles have probably taught me more about power supplies than any other book.
