Re: Far out, how fast is google chrome????
I have issues with Chrome on every computer I use it on. On one computer the tabbed browsing quit shrinking as I opened up new tabs and would just extend out to nowhere. On my newest laptop, I can't get AES to pull up properly (the sidebar doesn't display). I stick with Firefox, it's a good medium between IE and Chrome.

The mac loves it! My son uses sit on windows 7 and loves it too. I thought firefox was pretty darn good. But the speed the pages load in chrome is outrageous!

I just installed it, we shall see.
I was having problems with IE8 and reverted back to 7.
Now with chrome, the one thing I don't like right away is not having my favorites right handy. And they list them differently.
I have a bunch of folders that I like to be organized.
Now they are all scattered throughout the links.

I just switched to firefox today instead of Chrome and I like Firefox.
I have trouble loading images from Ampgarage is that just me or does that affect everyone? This was before and after I switched to Firefox.

Pages load fine for me, Mark.
I used to like firefox but it is starting to get bloated (IMHO).
I use a Mac (2 of them actually) and mostly use Safari.
Camino is another one for Mac that I think has a lot of potential. It is very small and simple. I am thinking that in another revision or two so they can polish off a couple of the rough edges it will be my main browser. Actually, the only thing I don't like about it now is the scrolling isn't as smooth as Safari.

Re: Far out, how fast is google chrome????
I must need to do more maintenance on my CPU as some pictures won't open up to view larger or save.
Such as Tony's #124 Dumble new version layout I could not open that thing to save my A$$ had to do it at work and send to my email to save on my CPU.
This all started recently too.

Re: Far out, how fast is google chrome????
Well I have been using Chrome for about a week now and I like it.
Seems to load pages quickly and I am not getting the frequent errors that IE was giving me.
I had tried IE8 for a while but it would freeze hard and all I could do was reset my PC to get going again.
So I uninstalled that and went back to IE7.
I tried Firefox a few years ago and I'm a bit gun shy. It crashed my whole system and it took me days to figure out how to get it going again.

Even a used newspaper from the bottom of a bird cage is better than IE!

Yeah unfortunately in the non Mac CPUs we frequently are forced to rebuild our PCUs after crashing like that.
I have fixed so many PCs in the last 4 years that I decided I need to go to the MAC world very soon.

After using MS based machines since their inception (even prior to windows), I switched to Mac last year and haven't looked back.

I had Macs since 1990, and I cant understand why people knock 'em. They never get viruses, they are fast, reliable, and easy to fix if you need to reinstall everything - you can do it yourself and you don't need a doctorate in computer science. It is computing made easy - which is what computing ought to be. The one I've got now still runs fine and I've had it for 6 years, I upgraded the system software last week for the first time in ages and it still runs everything it needs to run to get me on the net, or record music, process photos, make movies, drawing schematics, writing documents, spreadsheets, presentations, etc etc. For the extra $800 or so it cost me (new) above a pc based computer at the time I bought it, it has repaid its weight in gold several times, and I daresay if I'd have bought a PC in 2004 instead, I'd have replaced it twice already since then, which would've cost me more.

Re: Far out, how fast is google chrome????
I used to be one of those people that knocked Macs. I used to have to use Macs on occasion at a previous job and every time I had to do something on a Mac I got so frustrated with it. I was expecting, or shall I say, demanding that everything on a Mac react the same way that it would on a PC. But, Macs have their own philosophy of how the interface should respond. For example, the red, yellow, and green buttons on a window that a PC user would expect to be quit, minimize, and maximize. They are not that at all but are just close enough to frustrate a PC user to no end! Those buttons have their own purpose and once you understand what they are it makes total sense.
Well, last year I decided to get a Mac and to also approach it with a fresh mind. Instead of thinking, how can I make this mac work like a PC, I made an effort to understand the reasoning behind the choices that Apple made and how that affects my workflow and productivity. It took me about a month of using a Mac to get as comfortable with it as I was with a PC. It was well worth the initial frustrations.
