Nashville tuning

Heard of Nashville tuning? Just tried it out on my Parker P-36, played thru my AX84 SEL.

I'm not familiar with Parkers, is that a solid body electric?
If so it almost sounded like an acoustic.

That's been a country staple for decades...
There are a couple of variations on the stringing / tuning...
Mostly whether to use 3 octave strings or 4...
Try it with some non-standard / open tunings as well...

IIRC, Chet Atkins used to call it "angel hair"...

Yes, it's a Tele style guitar, with piezo in the bridge. I recorded with both mag and piezo pickups blended. Plus you can hear my pick tapping against the metal neck pickup cover.

Nashville tuning is really cool. In a rock context, on Camera Eye (Rush, Moving Pictures) Alex Lifeson uses a Gibson Dove in Nashville tuning for texture. You can hear the acoustics riding on top of the main electric theme. Fantastic song.
