Are we turning this into the Pretty Good Joke Show? Here's my favorite lightbulb one:

How many feminists does it take to--That's not funny!

LOL! I almost posted the "How do you know when a chick singer is at your door?" joke, but thought some may find ut equally distasteful.

I don't know shit about the universe, but in times like these the only thing I can suggest is love and laughter. Tell your brother those are Ballz of Steel (read my quit smoking thread), you and him will kick the shit out of this.
This.... Best wishes friend!

I grow concerned when threads like this go quiet.

Still sending out positive thoughts to the family.

Well it's been a while and my brother has gone through a second round of chemo. It was rough this time and at the end of it he was reminded that it was palliative to begin with. He is stage 4 and it is incurable. He has made the decision to accept it and he just came home today for hospice care. The swelling has gone down quite a bit , especially in the jewels area. He can swallow for the time being and is in good spirits. He has signed a DNR and a DNI as he doesn't want to end up on any machine. He has made his peace with our Lord. No idea what time frame but he's guessing around a couple of months. I don't know if thats what his doctor told him or not. He's greatful for all that has been done for him and all the prayers as well.

Hard to take but easy to understand.

Not many words but lots of love from all around.

Very sorry to hear, Passfan. Spend all the time possible with your brother and let him know there are people he's never met in this world wishing him the very best.

I went through this with my dad. Melanoma in his case. . Too late for meaningful treatment. I can recall without a doubt that the intervening months solidified an already wonderful relationship. If he's single and childless, move him in to your home and spend his waking hours helping him relive his life. I've had no finer gift in my life than those last months with him. I was there as he took his last breath.

Take heart friend. We all live forever.

So sorry to hear. It's good he's made peace with it, he can enjoy what time he has left. It's very hard, I lost a friend to a rare brain cancer. All I could do is tell him I love him and a make him laugh.

Thoughts and prayers for you and your brother.

Hang in there Passfan. I lost my wife a year and a half ago to incurable cancer. Many, many hard decisions there as I am sure you are having to make.

Make everyday as close to normal for your brother as you can and say everything on your mind. Hospice is very pet friendly and our dog was a great comfort.

Time heals.
