Windows 10

windows 10 is already installed on 67 million machines, it's also been in public testing for a year now.


As someone who runs a professional recording studio relying on computers for my day to day existence, Microsoft have been very on the ball over the last year or so when developing windows 10.


It's a great OS, and as a free upgrade it's a no brainer if your hardware/software is supported.

Microsoft is not emailing anyone with a link as far as I know. This should come to you via Windows Update.

I have been receiving a blue pop-up that reads:-

Introducing Windows 10
Microsoft recommends:
Upgrade to Windows 10
for FREE.
Schedule your free upgrade!

In fact it popped up again just now and is still on my desktop.

This does not sound like the fake e-mail you are advising about. Is it legit or another faker?

That should be coming from the Win 10 upgrade app that is part of Windows update. That's not an email. It should be legit. You can run that if you want to upgrade. The buzz on the upgrade is that it's good. Of course there are the doubters and we all know nothing is really free.

Well, I got Windows 10 installed OK and my printer seems to be working.

But when I click on a pic there is a tiny taskbar, that doesn't display a print option until you click on three dots at the right, then it is a scroll down option. Too many keystrokes.

But I can print a document same as in Windows 7. Click on it, taskbar with print option displays. Go figure.

Read the page then download the mediacreationtool and run it. Select create media disk and the 2.5GB Windows ISO file will begin to download. When download finishes just burn the ISO to DVD.

I'm a click guy not a keyboard guy. Is there a way to get Print to display when you click on a "photo" or pic?

Are you talking about a photo which is being displayed in some program, or one which is saved on your computer and being shown in a directory listing or as a thumbnail? If the latter, you can right-click on it and select Print from the menu that pops up. Or select Open with , and select Windows Photo Viewer, which is the Windows 7, desktop computer-oriented photo Viewer program, and has a non-hidden Print tab. The Windows 10 default for photos seems to be the Photos app, which is more of a Windows 8 feature, and is what I assume you are talking about with the three dots. You can change the default to Windows Photo Viewer by right clicking, Open with, Choose another app, click on Windows Photo Viewer and check the Always use this app to open .jpg files box.
