I realize that "everyone has their cross" to bear, and a lot of folks would draw the line at giving (or receiving) money...it's all good and no shame intended.

BUT(T),

I know that sometimes life circumstances can really beat a person down. I've been there but your situation is a jaw-dropper, and makes me damn angry at a government that wields so much power, with so little restraint or discretion.

I would propose that even though I am in the midst of a bankruptcy I would still chip in a donation, not just as a hand out, but to give a hand UP.

Have you considered setting up a fundly, GoFundMe or similar site? I know if you did, I would bet that almost all of us who regularly prowl this forum would want to help. A lot of us doing a little can add up to at least a short-term game plan. Food for thought.

Hi Matt,

I am making my first post to this forum to echo the sentiments already expressed.

A wise old lady told me once that "It's better to be looking at money than to be looking for it."

I don't have money to waste but I'm happy to share.

If you can find a way that works for you I'd love to add a little of my own good luck. What goes around comes around.

Take care now...

John

The BK for me, is what it is...no regrets I did it because my Bank refused (8 times) to even try to work out a plan on my house so we could keep it. If I were in your shoes, I'd consider what others have suggested about "getting the hell outta Dodge".

Matt

New Hampshire is nice this time of year! And we're the Live Free or Die state...
In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.

matt h wrote:Don, thank you (again!) for the kind words. I'm terribly sorry to hear about your own bankruptcy situation. From what I gather, it's becoming all too common these days.

The crowdfunding thing has been suggested to me a couple of times, and I haven't dismissed it. After having my ass handed to me the way I have, it's definitely not a pride issue. I'm not asking for it, but I wouldn't turn it down (exactly). I've considered it... (but...) but I'm really stuck on that short term-nudge... to what? I'm really, really, really stuck on that last part.

I need to see how some things pan out in the near future before doing anything. Will certainly keep you posted. And again, thank you (repeatedly) for the generosity.

I may just take all of you up on your offers!
Hey Matt -
Christ.....the police are a broken institute that serve to protect the elite class of society.
We do not have a justice system, we have a legal system.
It is broken...the USA is broken by design.
But anyway...if I can ever help..... I have had 11 surgeries in the last 9 years. At 48 years of age, I was denied Disability twice. I go an attorney and my disability was approved...just in time to save my house and, no doubt, my marriage.
We...fortunately or unfortunately, depends on how you want to look at it....met special criteria to file for bankruptcy two times in 4-1/2 years.
My life is a mess...but a controlled mess if you know what I mean.
I empathize with you...I think we all do.
I have been very happy to see your membership here. I thank you for joining...you have helped me quite a few times.
Jesus...I am rambling...I am trying to be supportive. Hang In There.
Sending you a PM

Depending on the individual board/forum restrictions, there are *several* like TGP (I don't know what they are there, I'm sure someone here does know) or maybe ax84, heck even Reverb.com etc. where you may be able to post such services under the for sale/trade sections.

Craigslist for local consult stuff "might be" a good option but as we have all seen, sometimes that avenue can become a PITA.

We're all hoping for the best!
