yeah, been there done that, saw the 'golden spike' that connected the transcontinental railroad, took a tour with my (ex) in-laws. apparently there were like three 'golden spikes' cant remember exactly

tour guide was awesome, craggly old man, pointing at stuff with his cane, super nice and knowledgeable, always open for questions

Sac has the american and sacramento rivers, tubing down the american is a summer tradition, multiple trips every weekend! there are some rapids so electronics usually dont make it on the trip, to much lost shit

drought is making it a tough butt-scratcher at some spots.... gotta get trips in while i can! seen some HUGE carp and salmon diving with goggles. great for crawdading too! love me some of those suckers!! :D

yeah but shit, a california license is like $60... i see the rangers kayaking ALL day checking for permits if they see any equipment, so we dont bring any of that, not sure what the regs are on crawdads... hmm.. see people 'dading all day!

rather have a big flotilla of tubes all clipped together with a big cooler and a shitty radio for the country channel. para-fuckin-dise!!! i bring an umbrella and i always get shit at the beginning, three hours of sun later and its like "hey, lemme use your umbrella for like 15 min" then it makes the rounds and never comes back to me

Some day I hope to come fishing with you.

Mark Twain described golfing as a good walk spoiled, but I've never met a man to disparage a day spent fishing.

When I was a kid my friends and I would go to an abandoned man made commercial fishing lake. Only thing left in the lake was carp. They were huge and would put up a fight. We'd catch them and then let them go. Can't really eat carp.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

Fitting quote since I live in the mark Twain national forest
You're welcome anytime buddy.
In fact it would be awesome if we could do an annual TAG camping/float trip. I know I'm just dreaming and it couldn't ever happen but it would be really cool to meet you guys in person.well some of you anyway

I'm in Cbass... Is there enough beer at the local marts for all of us guys?

Imagine the creek level would rise a bit....

cbass, the Mark Twain National Forest is like 5hrs 21minutes from my house... When do you want to start this annual event? We have plenty of camping/fishing gear and need a getaway... Dire need!! I'm jealous too!!

I think several here brew their own beer... So we might have that taken care of.

Do you need a license if you don't use a hook? I'd be perfectly happy just hanging out in a canoe and looping a line over the side. I could care less if I ruin a fish's day.

A day on the river is a beautiful thing. We've got rivers here in New Mexico, there just isn't much water in them.

That looks like a wondrous place.

You need a liscence if your gonna be holding a rod
Weekend liscences are very reasonable
Its wondrous to me . every turn is more breathtaking than the next.we could spend three days floating down that creek and not see a house or building or power lines or another person if you go during the week
I ts nice in the winter also eagles everywhere. And you can see the bluffs better.
