I used to wiegh 180.
In the 7th grade
I used to frame houses. Its's a total body workout.I never realized how many muscles you use in your legs to stay balnced till I did some framing a couple years ago.My upper body was fine but I could barley walk the next day.
My job is still active I'm on my feet all day.Just not like it was.My legs are more out of shape then anything. You'd think Carryin around 300lbs all day they would be pretty strong.
I need to lose about 40-50lbs I'd be happy if I could get back under 250

I wasn't kidding bout the moonshine in the ear.It won't cure an infection but it will help prevent them.Do it a couple times a week.It also helps your throat if you take a shot everyonce in a while. My grandpa used to say I've got a little tickle in throat better stop and get some whiskey.

My grandpa used to say he 'had a tickle in his ear' and then people would go missing. He was funny like that.cbass wrote:My grandpa used to say I've got a little tickle in throat better stop and get some whiskey.

thanks - thats a bit closer to my house - right now I have so much family and future family planning that even if I get an hour off - I have a million things that have to be done yesterday - maybe next year. There's a Shaolin Kung Fu place up on 130th off Aurora
My old haunt was the kung-fu club of seattle, also have a tai-chi section - real old school - proper eastern training and heirarchy. 656 1/2 s. king street in heart of chinatown - seattle of course.
Sorry to hear about the hospital stay lefty - I aint perfect - but I'm a lot better off than I was 5 years ago - keep praying that doesnt happen to me - I do so many physical things it would ruin most of my hobbies.
it really is a journey, and you just cant farm out the battle wounds

Woo-hoo! Let's go out and get trashed! No, wait, maybe we should just remain cautiously optimistic...

Thing about Aikido is that although you can't do the same training out of the dojo (although you can think through techniques and practise basic movements, as well as weapons kata) the rolling is fantastic for your body. Everything, particularly you back, has no option but to loosen up and straighten out. You build up ab and back muscle strength because you use them to support you through the roll. Also not just the exterior muscles, but your internal organs get massaged improving blood flow.LeftyStrat wrote:To practice Akido, you really need a sparring partner.

Yeah. It's kind of funny that the first thing you learn in Akido is how to fall. I did enjoy it.katopan wrote:Thing about Aikido is that although you can't do the same training out of the dojo (although you can think through techniques and practise basic movements, as well as weapons kata) the rolling is fantastic for your body. It's never too late to have a happy childhood.
Re: Take better care of yourselves.
Learning how to fall (especially in a combat scenario) is a great skill. A solid (but off target) punch might not knock a guy out, but people go out easily when their melon strikes the pavement on the way down.LeftyStrat wrote:Yeah. Who knew getting punched in the stomach was a good thing?katopan wrote:Also not just the exterior muscles, but your internal organs get massaged improving blood flow.
