The F Word

Post by Bob S »

Very common use where I come from...
Neer mind using it in every sentence, how about mid-word as in "abso - fuckin - lutely".
Right place - right time - still been known to use a few expletives myself.

Some people can cuss with class, some just sound plain ghetto when they do it. It's like playing way more notes than you need too to get your point across. It has taken some time for me to learn this.

Sometimes, the fuck word is the only appropriate word. Compare Cee-lo Green's original instant-fame viral hit with the cleaned-up-for-TV version. Not the same song at all. In fact, if he'd Bowdlerized the original, he probably still couldn't afford the Ferrari he sings about not being able to afford ...

I saw the vid last week, and it sounded very contrived. That kind of stuff fails to shock or impress me nowadays. It's trite, boring, and uncool. Big yawn, go wash your mouth out with soap.

OMG, I'd rather stab my eyeballs than listen to that. Foul language is the only GOOD thing in that tune. How DO you find these turds, er gems?

Then again, these tunes just wouldn't be the same if it weren't for the "F" word. One from my hometown faves and one from the L.A. gods of punk.

The F word is typically referencing something sexual and is usually used in an expression of some tone of anger such as "F you". Same fusion of sexuality and anger goes with " I got screwed" or "man, that sucks".

I don't get what is cool or appropriate or needed about fusing together something sexual with anger in an expression? I'd rather see something sexual spoken of in a tone of love, beauty, respect, honor, etc......

Just my two cents worth. With respect, 10thtx

Uh, that was the point of posting that.

It does sound contrived many times.

Just like when Grohl shouted it in the stadium.

Tom, I was referring to the original vid, not yours.

Uh, yourself. ;)
