I'm new to the AR platform. The amount of choices is pretty overwhelming . I hope I did OK .
I have right about 600 in it including the reddot and 40 rounder. I think think the parts are pretty good. It has the m16 boltcarrier the barrel is made by FN. The trigger feels OK it's crisp but alittle heavy . I really just wanted something that was light and durable and accurate to over 200 yards .
I'm looking for a rear flip up sight but they get pricey fast and I don't know what's good .

I've got a stripped lower I'm thinking about a pistol build in 7.62x39

Yep, entire cottage industries build around black rifle accessories with tons of tacticool bell & whistles designed to catch the fisherman verses the fish. Beware there is tons of junk out there too, it's cheap for a reason.

6 is not bad for a complete build. With stock triggers the best dollar for dollar accuracy improvement is the $10 JP Enterprises yellow ( lightweight) trigger spring kit. Pick you up a couple of 20 round mags, they work better when shooting from a bench or prone.

For rear BUIS sights I like the Troy or ARMS, but Magpul makes the MOE plastic sets, which for light range plinking and fun they are fine. Magpul makes the MBUS metal which would be a good choice. Also MI makes a reasonable rear BUIS.

Ive experienced AR pistol gas length uppers in 6-7 different cartridges, the one I'm least fond of is the 7.62x39, even in straight rifle config. The taper of the cartridge can be finicky feeding from an AR mag, even with supposedly the correct follower. If you really have your heart set on the 7.62x39, pick up a Polish Under-folder while you still can get them.

Pistol length gas system AR's in general can be funky, especially the alternative carttridges and get even funkier went you want to suppress them. The upper you see at the top is a 7.5 inch 5.56 and I believe that's 7.5 pistol that you posted, they look cool but their best purpose is annoying the hell out of the person next to at the range or in a confined space as they are freaking loud and the muzzle flash can be like dragons breath at night. My first choice is an 10.5 to 12.5 barrel or a pistol or SBR.

Thanks Tone, I think I would like to have some good metal sights . the reddot was just a hey its on sale with freeshipping thing.
I wanted 7.62 because my brother has a bunch and figure I could swipe some
Thanks for the heads up though I think 9mm would be my next choice . I have a bunch and I think it would make amgood home defense gun.
I think I definitely want to to with a pistol build . I really don't think I could build a better long rage AR than my .243 without dropping alot of dough.
don't have indoor ranges here so louds not an issue . I plan on being on several hundred acres by this summer. So hopefully I'll have my own range

ARMS 40 at rear, Troy flip HK tritium front. On carbines and SPR builds I run the ARMS 40 L-P at the rear.

Polymer sights maybe all I can afford . was wanting a flip up rear so I could still use the reddot . maybe I should just lose the reddot and get a carry handle . no better than I can shot it probably won't matter .

This is real similar to the kit I got in case anyone cares http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-16-c ... e-kit.html

I guess you are right, the folks felled by the 5.56 aren't dead enough.

Depending upon the red dot you could co witness with the fixed rights or just get the flips which be fine for your needs.

Tone, feel like like imreally starting to pester you now but a couple things I noticed . I have pretty big hands the magpaul grips feel pretty small . even with the adjustable stock all the way out it feels a little short . with my wingspan being almost 7feet may just be something I have to deal with.
Is there fatter grips or maybe an ext for the stock pad?
Either may not be an issue guess I won't know till I fire it.

Well I'm not planning on shooting any folks but a .308 is a much better round for deer. Especially around here its foresty
