I had to stop twice to get some cheese to go with all the whine.
Gotta let that whine age properly - don't release it before its time.

Same for the cheese.

Looks like they are still making them...although after reading the posts on TGP I wouldn't really be interested. Maybe it's BB's brotha?
So - it's a glorified Champ. Claims 8W out of a single ended 6V6 with a 5Y3 rectifier. Pass me another slice of baloney. 8 ohms output - to match with the 32 ohm cab? Or do I have to link up 3 more 32 ohm cabs to get the full 8 watts advertised. All this tonal glory for a mere $2749. Laggard has more holes in his description than Swiss cheese. Pass that well aged whine while you're at it. Thunderbird or 20-20 would be appropriate. Good grief.

hmm....both Airbloom and Murder by tone were only three months apart in applying for a trademark.

If I had to guess, it's the same person.

Internet searches come up with little to nothing about Murder by tone.

If it walks like a duck.....

I've always felt it was better to undersell yourself. Then people have no expectations, and it's easier to impress them.

I've played this amp with matching 2- 12 cab, it's nice, sounds nice, and it looks very nice, I can't see myself buying it but to the right buyer it would be a nice rig, as long as they got deep pockets i guess, a grand for a champ is a tough sell, I have no idea if these two names are the same guy, If he's making a living off 1000$ champs more power to him, I play his amp just about every time i go in the shop, that amps been in the amp room at (Hubner&Breeze in Roseville Mich) for about 2 maybe 3 years now. mark

Well that's good to hear anyway. Meanwhile I'll bet the manager at H&B is slapping himself in the forehead for taking up showroom floor space with such a "stone."*

*Retail jargon for an item that will. not. sell.

Just for the halibut I think I'll make an even smaller amp, say 12AU7 parallel triode SE, 4x12 cab 64 ohm series wired & demand $10,000 retail. Less is more, after all. The secret is in the OT turns ratio. Who knows, might start a trend. Nobody has MY math. FLEAPHART brand, the latest and greatest of them all. Hey, put your ear up to the grille: don't it sound like Eric Ray Shmendrix?

I'll give him some credit. The tolex contrast is really nice with the different colored corners and the piping. But at the end of the day it's putting lipstick on a champ.

You can supercharge a Pinto, but it will still be a Pinto.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

For $3k, I think there are quite a few builders here that could build something better.

Wo, I just read an interview with Jake E Lee and he mentioned using a Larkard 8w amp on his new album.

just my 'magination, runnin' away with me... :P

Link up enough speakers, about 1000, we can have a 1:1 OT ratio, take THAT Laggard Amps. Nobody have my math!

Let's just hope groupies never decide to make amps. We may never be able to match their claims.

Hah, the GTO's!

'It's OK I'm with the band.'

All of a sudden that quarter-inch jack doesn't look . . . big enough . . .

"Don't worry dear, it's like a Telefunken U-47."

"With leather?"

What a way to end the week. If the groupies did start making amps, with what. 845's a good start...
