He lived a hard life thats for sure.
We used to think we were pretty tough.
I can't belive we lived through it all.
Lifes too short to spend all your time working and away from family. In the end all that money you made don't mean a thing. You can't buy back time with your children.

Damn, I need to change my ways!
Lost one of my best friends over Thanksgiving. He was epileptic, had a seizure and suffocated. He and I had played in the same band together for 22 years. 44, a wife and two kids.
Makes you think..........
Maybe too much.
Hang in there cbass!

Re: Lost a good friend yesterday
Sorry about your friend, cbass. My jam buddy from high school (and beyond) died from cancer back in the late 80's, and it kinda ruined music for me for quite a while. I didn't quit playing, but it just wasn't as much fun after that. I stayed drunk on dark beer for about a year, then finally got myself back together and moved on. It's tough. We had that special bond where you just know what the other guy is gonna play, and the music just flows.
I still haven't found anybody else I love to jam with like that. I guess that is why I have turned into more of a back-porch solo guy. I didn't really discover blues music until after he died, but that is the stuff blues is all about.
That was a long time ago, and music is once again a great joy in my life, but it took a while to quit thinking about him every day. He would have loved building tube amps....
Grieving is necessary to move on, so don't hold back. Hang in there.
