how do you have your bias set (plate dissapation)?

Between 33 and 34ma. .0338 x 520 = 17.68 watts

Why don't you purchase a Constent voltage transformer so you get a clean consistant 120V I bought a dozen Sola's on ebay last year for $50 total new. Then hook up a variac to a power strip and dial down the voltage or even boosting it? then you aren't set to a -6 or -12 and can dial the exact amp spec i.e. 117v to both test voltage and hear the tonal difference.

Just a thought.
