So I just found out Sly and the Family Stone are touring and coming to my town. I am trying to figure out if it is worth getting tickets or will the tour even make it long enough to get to my town. I know it isn't RF or LC but it seems like a lot of you guys on the board like good 60's bands.
I remember seeing Chuck Berry play a show with Willie Dixon's son playing keyboards. It was some of the most amazing guitar work I have ever seen. Then half way through the set Chuck must have realized how well he was playing. He then spent around twenty minutes or more trying to tune his guitar. Having know his rep going into the show I know I got the best of both worlds, but it literally drove most of the audience absolutely nuts.
I am thinking Sly may be similar. Any thoughts?

I'd love to see him as well, but if he manages to keep it together long enough to pull it off it'll be the first time since the 70s as far as i know. Damn shame.
For my money, I try to catch George Clinton / Bootsy / Bernie Worrell and/or whatever conglomeration of Parliament/Funkadelic comes around. Hope for the best but remember the old axiom about only risking a "Gamblers Share"
(what you can afford to lose) for tickets.
