Squier 15 mod help

Post by tru3mackadel1c »

I Recently bought a Squier 15 amp and i love it, it's simple, solid and has an interesting tone,
but since i find myself mostly using it to play bass i was wondering if it would be possible to mod the case and throw in a 10" speaker instead? would it even make a difference? Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong n place or something im new here.

The squier 15 amp is a solid state amp. This forum focuses mostly on tube amps, but some members know a lot about solid state. That being said, as for modding it for a larger speaker, if you want a larger speaker it's often better to build an external cabinet and connect the amp to that external cabinet for the larger sized one. I don't know anything about the dimensions inside of one of those cabinets, you'd need to measure if the amp has enough height, depth and width for the size you're wanting and then decide if it's worth it for you to cut a larger hole in the cabinet as well for the larger cone size.
