18. Cant afford $30,000 - $50,000 for a Dumble or a Trainwreck, and not gonna pay $2,000 - $3,000 for someone else's version when I can build it for $1,000 or less!

It's cheaper than Hot Rods, and less hassle from my wife. Oh, and it also gives me the excuse to start building my own guitars
I just started today working with a friend who's a luthier and I cut and glued up tops for 2 LPs today. I'll be making the backs and necks tomorrow. Should be fun.

I was shopping for a Ferrari Mondial 348, one of the last ones. No really! The Mrs. put up such a fight I figured guitars and amps would keep her blood pressure lower. It has.......a little. Between the shop space I rent and the parts and stuff, the payments been about the same.

She has nothing to complain about since I got rid of all my motorized toys. I let her do her quilting and gardening, which is about as expensive as getting into a nice vintage guitar and amp every year!
I was looking to trade off my pimped out bimmer for a classic 911, that got shot down really quick and the bimmer was sold shortly there after.
Thanks for the offer Dan. I may take you up on it. My friend does everything out of his townhouse and get's nice results on the finishes, but I'm sure wouldn't mind having space to setup and spray a bunch at a time.
