The Fender OV 52 reissue pickups are great pickups to my ears and won't break the bank.

Re: Tele pickups?
Hate to be a debby downer but, I always wanted to love a Telecaster, in fact I've built three over the years.
Some of my heroes play them now or in the past.
I bought a Fender Jaguar back around 73 as my first real electric.
So I kind of got a feel for that and later I moved on to Stratocasters.
In attempts to like Teles, I tried singles, P90's, humbuckers but, I just couldn't get them to sound like I wanted.
And dang it, I always wanted my Tele to sound like Robben's or some other guy that made his name with the original electric.
(Maybe I should had bought fingers and feel?)
Then I built a Dumble clone, then my Strats started sprouting humbuckers and other dual humbucker guitars started showing up.
I actually hated the first couple LP's I tried back when.
The difference in guitars took me a while to warm to.
I still like them (Fenders) but they don't get as much time as they used to.

Re: Tele pickups?
Funny how things work out I was checking out a song I recorded in
1978 in fact I played my first real Dumble ODS it sucked I rerecorded my solo the next day on a modified Fender Twin well the rhythm tracks were
on a 1952 nocaster and a 1966 Fender Pro Reverb but the solo was recorded with a 1961 Les Paul SG I thought what a great sound
I called my friend Scott he has a few Gibson SG'S I played them then
played my Fender Esquire I liked the Esquire best.
Then went to the music store to drop off some amps I repaired.
I saw a old Gibson case in the workshop part of the store Leo can I check out that Gibson SG Leo how do you know it's a SG the case size.
I have it took it home last night body 1962 gold hardware 1963 pot's 1958
and some weird inlay on the body but for the price can't beat it.
I tried it out in the store on one of the amps I fixed good GOD what tone
It's all good
