Kool old ads Tom, thanx for posting!

I gotta dig thru some of my old mags. Somewhere in there is "9 out of 10 doctors prefer Camels." The way things are going, it might still be true.

My avatar is a vintage Australian valve advertisement. I don't own the original paper version though.

When I was a little kid I remember watching the Dr stitch the back of my brothers head up with a cigarette in his mouth the whole time. Don't remember what brand though

Man, those old cigarette ads and slogans were something else.

'Winston tastes great like a cigarette should'

'I'd rather fight than switch'

'I'd walk a mile for a camel'

I used to buy my dad a carton of cigarettes for Christmas.

Silva Thins: "It's a silly millimeter longer." 100 mm instead if a mere 99, there's a selling point. I'll keep a metric ruler handy just to make sure.

Kent: "With the recessed Micronite filter." I think Micronite was made of asbestos, now that's healthy! Dad smoked 'em for a couple years, they smelled AWFUL.

I'll stick with home rolled Lucky Strike Green.

Yep, my dad had a friend that smoked Kents.

They advertised them as having cool smoke due to the asbestos in the filter.

Guess what my dad's friend died from.

Yep, times have changed.

Only history will tell if we did it right.

Hey, there's a band that kind of did something about it.

Devolution
