Here in eastern Mass, we've had nine and a half feet of snow since Jan 24.
Yesterday was the first day over 40 in 43 days.
We could use a break God.

If the Pilgrims had landed in San Diego the North East would still be largely unpopulated. Looks like global warming is exacerbating the situation.
Here in the West in BC the daffodils are out and the cherry blossom trees have been in full flower for two weeks now. We had practically no snow and aside from one Pineapple Express not a lot of rain. Not sure if this is El Nino or global warming, probably both. Jetstream, what jetstream?

Being hammered with snow right now. Just did a first pass of shoveling between the front door and the garage. My back said no more.
Can we please have summer now?

Roger THAT!
Weatherman says all that snow reflecting sunshine means a late spring up here. In spite of cold & snow I saw a couple groundhogs raiding my neighbors' kat kibble early this morning. One thing conspicuous by absence: skunks haven't dared appear, imagine that. They usually take a mid-winter midnight stroll late January to mid Feb. This year, they're staying camped out in their burrows & I can't say I blame 'em.

Re: Thought for the day
Two days ago I watched as the rain melted away all of the remaining snow only to watch it freeze and snow even more. Kinda weird-bright in the daytime... Seems like sunglasses are almost a necessity indoors.

Here in Portland, we're mirroring beautiful BC. Pink trees in full bloom, and crocii and daffodils are up. The negative, I've already had to fire up the mower. I doubt that will win much sympathy from the people pelted by frozen precipitation. Best of luck to you all.

Here it is in Haiku form
Got an inch of ice
Snowed 8 inches yesterday
The groundhog is dead

We got 8-10" in Baltimore. Single digits last night and same predicted tonight. Hoping for the big melt Saturday and Sunday. Supposed to be above freezing all next week!
